Fort King Middle School Reviews

I go to ft king and have been going there all since the 7th grade its an 'okay' school but i would rather be attending osceola since i went theree for 6th grade and loved it. Not trying to put ft king down but thats my oppinion you dont really get to socialize as much in the morning or at lunch. The trachers dont communicate as much and they dont get involved in alot of activities but its an ok school better than some others. Hope ft king continues to grow better and better every year!!!

This place is awsome! and they give alot of parties and rallies and let u hang ut with ur friends and the teachers make learning fun!

I Attend Fort King middle School. I am in my final year attending. The teachers are great. well most until u get to the 8th. I do truly wish we had athletics. we don't have any as of now. we got a new principal by the name of wayne livingston that really cares about each and every student. he does his best to please everyone. guidence department is awesome! the discipline department could use some help though, better deans could improve it. In my three years being here we have only had five fights. But i must say my last year has been my favorite! I believe its because of our new principle. :)Kiela-Cyr Turner fort kings class of 2008!

I would very much like to see better communication between teachers and parents.

I would like to say that I have been very pleased with Fort King Middle school's guidance department. my daughter is in the eighth grade there and she has been through some very tough times at a young age. Her counselor, Mr. DeVilling, was wonderful. He helped her to feel better about her self, her future; and helped her to find strength to face those tough situations yet to come. I cannot thank Mr. DeVilling enough for the time and caring he has shown with my daughter and all the kids at Fort King Middle.

I did not have very high expectations when we arrived here. However, Fort King has been a fabulous experience for my children. Their music program is extraordinary, and Mr. Fritz does a wonderful job encouraging the children, and helping them truly appreciate music. I only wish my daughter could stay another year with this band. I also think they need more sports programs for girls, to help keep the children out of trouble, and physically fit.

my child came from another Marion county school that she continually had problems at. this one has been perfect. I love the calls that we get from the school notifying us if she misses school and if there are alerts we need to know about.i wish the grade went higher than 8th.

I find that FT King is a fantastic school. This is my daughter's second year in attendance and I could not hope for more attentive teachers. Most are very prompt in responding to emails and will take the time to sit and discuss academic progress with parents if you make an appointment thru guidance. There are some exceptional teachers at FT King. Consider yourself fortunate if your child can attend this school.

when we got here from pa the school attendants were very generous. it was a much bigger school then expected. Everyone was friendly and courteous. There is a problem with busses too full i now take and drop of my son to school everyday but other than that its average with the students. Their are still children here that pick on others like anywhere else but my son likes it here and has met a few friends so cant complain.

Academic program is average. No sports for girls only boys, which is sad. My daughter wanted to continue to play basketball and was unable to. Good involvement with parents. Late school start is difficult for working parents and kids aren't allowed into the school early. Must remain outside till first bell. No before or after school activities. Great music program if your child is inclined. Music Director is excellent and expects excellence in his students.
