“With the new principal I think this school will be great this year my daughter loves this school her second year there and she is in advance classes and loves going every day and the do there best in fcat training all year which is also helpful to her. After finding out that we are third in the state I'm very happy to her that even more.”

“My daughter just started LWMS and I am very happy with her teachers, the administration and her guidance counselor. The school grounds are very clean and the landscaping is pretty. There is a nice water garden just outside the library. When I have visited the school recently, I have been met in the hallways with pleasant greetings from teachers and support staff. I am looking forward to many successful and happy years at LWMS!”

“This is my daughters first year at lake weir and I think it is one of the worse schools around. I have two older daughters who didnt attend this school and I am so greatful for that. The teachers just do not seem to care. I had to practically pull teeth to get a conference. You would think that teachers who have been at this school as long as they have would be awesome, but it is just the opposite. I really believe they are burnt out.”

“LWMS is a ok school. They need more sports programs to get the kid's into so they stay out of trouble after school. The new principal at the school is doing ok but more changes need to be done.”

“I am thinking of relocating by parents. My son attends a 9 rating school in tampa is in gifted classes. This would councern me for a change for educational purposes. There needs to be PARENTs that have involvment in school. That is why Coleman in Tampa is a 9 star school. My son may be to advanced for this school. May be some help would do by a concerned parent. Activities, Band, Art, Launguage, Drama, Computers this is just to name a few at Coleman...Please respond if would like to talk Robbie”

“I wouldn't recommend Lake Weir Middle. Not enough Parent/Teacher communication. No after school extracurricular activities. No encouragement to do better, or reward for doing well. Most Teachers caliber and ability left a lot to be desired. LWMS also has In School Suspension, rather than better programs such as After school suspension or Saturday School. Would not recommend this school, I feel it needs to make big changes and has for years.”

“Lake Weir is a wonderful school. This is my son's second year and he loves it! The teachers are always helpful and available if I have any questions or concerns. I am proved to have my son in Lake Weir Middle and looking forward to another great year!”

“I think Lake Weir Middle School is a great school. We have a high percentage of students who come from a very rural area in southeastern Marion County. Our mobility rate is 39% which makes it very hard to help our students be ready for the FCAT. All the teachers are dedicated to their students and many have worked at the school for more than 15 years. We do the very best for our kids with afterschool programs but it is hard since we are in a rural area. Come on over. I think you will like it. I have worked there as a teacher for more than 20 years and drive 18.5 miles each way to do so. I wouldn't think of leaving before I retire.”
