“I am still trying to find some good in this school. I have had 2 children attend this school and I cannot say it has been a positive experience for them or myself.”

“The one thing I can say is that this school is not a school that you should send your child to if they have learning disabilities. My daughter was in classes for learning disabilities due to a medical problem and to me they just pushed her through the school year.I wanted my child to learn as much as she could but they did not seem to care. Also I feel that the reason there is not much parent participation is because the school is not as parent friendly as it could be. it seems like when you visit the school you are intruding on them. I would never send my children back to this school.”

“If your child doesn't sit,act & perform as a drone, don't send you child to Harbour View. I bought in this neighborhood because I thought it was one of the best schools in the county. Was I ever wrong. My son had 4 teachers. All I heard was how he didn't focus, stay on task or pay attention but yet still managed to get honor roll and principals list. I can't wait to get my kid out this school. Even if it means moving.”

“This last review on Sept 2006 is right. This school and this county does not accomodate disabilities very well. They refuse to involve a behavioral specialist unless the child is violent or disruptive. We are leaving Florida. Florida schools leave something to be desired. If you have a disabled child, check out NY, NJ or CA. They have the better , if not, best programs for children with learning disabilities.”

“Teachers have to teach what is required of them by the state. They have no choice in this. We as parents have to help them teach our children. Teaching for testing is not the best way to teach, I agree, but until the state changes requirements, teachers have to do what they have to do, or far MORE children will be left behind. Harbour View has some of the MOST dedicated teachers and staff in Marion County. More parent involvement at HVE would help everyone out.”

“I Love Harbour View! THe only thing that I would change is the amount of extra curricular activities provided at the school. Go Dolphins!”

“I feel the teachers need to stop worrying so much about the tests and go back to the old way of teaching so the kids can learn naturally. I feel the new ways of teaching does nothing but leave out children behind. So much for no child left behind!”

“Such a wonderful place. A warm-family atmosphere. My children have gone here since Pre-K (1995) and still have children there.”
