Saddlewood Elementary School Reviews

I have sent notes to the teacher, calls to the administration and nobody responds. We moved here from CT and expected academic differences, unfortunately we've not been disappointed. There is no recess in this school but children do get gym 2-3 times/week. The teacher put 6 children in a 20 min. time-out for talking in line on the second week of school! Figure the class is about a half hour and they had to sit out for 20 mins of it --- ridiculous! When I called the office about their time-out procedure, they never responded. The drop-off and pick-up procedure is another example of what's wrong at that school. Picture an airport w/curbside check-in. One at a time, each car is loaded and unloaded at the curb. We WILL find another school before the beginning of next year.

This school is, to put it nicely, not great. I have a daughter in second grade and I have tried multiple times to get ahold of her teacher to no success. The teacher involvement, to my experience, is horrible and the teaching is minimal. It seems as if they do what they have to in order to get by and that's it.

Excellent school if you can pick the teachers. Like all Marion public schools - they don't have much to offer the gifted.

Saddlewood is an exceptional elementary school with a very high ratio of excellent teachers. My 9 year old daughter loves her school and has had spectacular teachers since first grade.

I have two children who have been going to Saddlewood Elementary for the past three years. I absolutely love this school, The teachers are so positive with the children. They will take time to make sure that they give your child any extra help he/she needs, and always keeps the parents involved in all of the children activity's and education. I have nothing negative to say about this school. I'm just so glad my kids are lucky enough to be getting a great education from here.

Coming from another county where uniforms are manditory and the school was year around with the best teachers, this school was such a major let down for us! We now have the kids in a private school. Saddlewood rates a 2 or less. I wish we would have known this before we moved to Marion County! My oldest child's class was told daily by their teacher that they wouldn't make it to the next grade! (the child is an 'A' student) My youngest child's teacher didn't even know what was going on. There is no PTA only PTO meaning no funds need I say more? We live in a very nice middle class neighborhood and we expected more.
