JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Times-Union will be moving to new offices.
The newspaper announced Wednesday its news, advertising and accounting departments will take over 27,000 square feet (2,500 square meters) in the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Jacksonville next year. GateHouse Media purchased the Times-Union last year, but the previous owner retained the 20 acres (8 hectares) along the St. Johns River where the paper's current office is located.
The Times-Union's new offices will undergo extensive remodeling and will be located on the second floor, above the main lobby atrium at Wells Fargo. Additional employees, primarily in the circulation division, will work at branch offices.
The Times-Union outsourced its printing earlier this year to other GateHouse papers in Gainesville, Ocala and Daytona.
